Gargaon
College was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation
Council in 2004. It has since established the Internal Quality
Assurance Cell. The primary aim of IQAC is to develop a system for
conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic
and administrative performance of the College. The basic purpose of
the IQAC are- (i) to ensure continuous improvement in the smooth
functioning of the College and (ii) to ensure stakeholders connected
with higher education, namely – students, guardians, teachers,
office staff, sponsoring agencies, employers and society in general-
of the transparency and accountability of the College to sustain an
all round development. The IQAC feels that with the help of
necessary resources, adequate funds and other aids from concerned
agencies and with the support and cooperation from the stakeholders,
the College will definitely be able to set new standards of
learning. The IQAC in its various meetings has analyzed and
discussed the NAAC Peer Committee Report. The Cell also deliberated
on various issues related to quality enhancement and the plan of

“We would continue to strive to make quality the defining element of
higher education as envisaged by NAAC’s vision. We have to abide
by the vision of the Nation to attain substantial growth in higher
education. We are ever keen to implement the various schemes which
the UGC has evolved. By adopting the schemes and other academic
programmes of UGC and Dibrugarh University we hope to continue to
prosper further in imparting better knowledge in the field
Vocational and Career Oriented courses, apart from the Degree
Courses. We are aware of the growing instability in the social
structure due to lack of employment opportunities but we do not want
this to grow beyond comprehension. We must persist with our efforts
to minimize the unemployment problem. At the same time, we cannot
take education as a trade since it is closely linked to the changes
at social, cultural and family levels. The role of NAAC from this
point onwards gains momentum and it is hoped that it would continue
to provide better suggestions and guidelines in the future to cope
with unutilized and resourceful people.”
